# §232.1. Eligibility requirements, generally; applicability of certain requirements.

- (a) **Eligibility, generally.** All of the requirements set forth in [24 CFR part 200](/cfr/24/part200.md), [subpart A](/cfr/24/subpartA.md), except for the requirements for “eligible mortgagor” in [24 CFR 200.5](/cfr/24/200.5.md), apply to mortgages insured under section 232 of the National Housing Act ([12 U.S.C. 1715w](/usc/12/1715w.md)), as amended.
- (b) **Applicability of certain requirements.** As of October 9, 2012 the provisions in 24 CFR [207.255(b)(5)](/cfr/24/207.255.md?p=b-5), [207.258](/cfr/24/207.258.md), [232.3](/cfr/24/232.3.md), [232.11](/cfr/24/232.11.md), [232.254](/cfr/24/232.254.md), [232.903(c)](/cfr/24/232.903.md?p=c) and [(d)](/cfr/24/232.903.md?p=d), and [subpart F of part 232](/cfr/24/part232-subpartF.md), excluding §§ [232.1007](/cfr/24/232.1007.md), [232.1009](/cfr/24/232.1009.md), and [232.1015](/cfr/24/232.1015.md) of [subpart F](/cfr/24/subpartF.md) are applicable only to transactions for which a firm commitment has been issued under this part on or after July 12, 2013.
