# §1005.601. Scope and method of payment.


HUD shall charge a one-time [Section 184](/cfr/24/184.md) Up-Front Loan Guarantee Fee, and a recurring Annual Loan Guarantee Fee where applicable, which will be collected by a Direct Guarantee Lender or Servicer as required by §§ [1005.603](/cfr/24/1005.603.md) and [1005.607](/cfr/24/1005.607.md) and remitted to HUD as required by §§ [1005.605](/cfr/24/1005.605.md) and [1005.609](/cfr/24/1005.609.md). The fees collected by the Direct Guarantee Lender or Servicer on behalf of HUD shall be payable to HUD in cash, in the manner prescribed by [Section 184](/cfr/24/184.md) Program Guidance.
