# §1005.201. Lender Applicant approval and participation.

- (a) **Approval types.** The [Section 184](/cfr/24/184.md) Program has two types of Lender Applicant approvals:
  - (1) Lender Applicants deemed approved by statute, as described in [§ 1005.203](/cfr/24/1005.203.md); or
  - (2) Lender Applicants required to obtain secretarial approval under [§ 1005.205](/cfr/24/1005.205.md).
- (b) **Lender Applicant participation.** In accordance with [§ 1005.207](/cfr/24/1005.207.md), Lender Applicants must select a level of program participation and submit a completed application package, as prescribed by [Section 184](/cfr/24/184.md) Program Guidance, to participate in the [Section 184](/cfr/24/184.md) Program.
