# §140.601. Purpose.


To prescribe policies and procedures for the use of Federal funds by State highway agencies (SHAs) to aid in the retirement of the principal and interest of bonds, pursuant to [23 U.S.C. 122](/usc/23/122.md) and the payment of interest on bonds of eligible Interstate projects.
