# §1210.9. Effect of noncompliance.


If a State has not met the requirements of [23 U.S.C. 161](/usc/23/161.md) and this part at the end of the period for which funds withheld under [§ 1210.4](/cfr/23/1210.4.md) are available for apportionment to a State under [§ 1210.6](/cfr/23/1210.6.md), then such funds shall lapse.
