# §556.150. Chlortetracycline.

- (a) **Acceptable daily intake (ADI).** The ADI for total residue of tetracyclines including chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline is 25 µg/kg of body weight per day.
- (b) **Tolerances.** The tolerances for the sum of tetracycline residues are:
  - (1) **Cattle.**
    - (i) **Liver—** 6 ppm.
    - (ii) **Kidney and fat—** 12 ppm.
    - (iii) **Muscle—** 2 ppm.
  - (2) **Chickens, turkeys, and ducks.**
    - (i) **Liver—** 6 ppm.
    - (ii) **Kidney and fat—** 12 ppm.
    - (iii) **Muscle—** 2 ppm.
    - (iv) **Eggs—** 0.4 ppm for chlortetracycline only.
  - (3) **Sheep.**
    - (i) **Liver—** 6 ppm.
    - (ii) **Kidney and fat—** 12 ppm.
    - (iii) **Muscle—** 2 ppm.
  - (4) **Swine.**
    - (i) **Liver—** 6 ppm.
    - (ii) **Kidney and fat—** 12 ppm.
    - (iii) **Muscle—** 2 ppm.
