# §1316.47. Request for hearing; answer.

- (a) Any person entitled to a hearing and desiring a hearing shall, within the period permitted for filing, file a request for a hearing that complies with the following format (see the Table of DEA Mailing Addresses in [§ 1321.01](/cfr/21/1321.01.md) of this chapter for the current mailing address):
- (b) A party shall file an answer as required under §§ [1301.37(d)](/cfr/21/1301.37.md?p=d) or [1309.46(d)](/cfr/21/1309.46.md?p=d) of this chapter, as applicable. The presiding officer, upon request and a showing of good cause, may grant a reasonable extension of the time allowed for filing the answer.
