# §210.4. Year of service.

- (a) **A year of service is twelve months of reported or deemed service, consecutive or not consecutive.** A fraction of a year of service is taken at its actual value.
- (b) The term years of service means the total number of years an employee is credited with service as defined in [§ 210.2](/cfr/20/210.2.md) of this part.
