# §25.215. Requirements for agency information systems.


Each Federal agency that awards Federal financial assistance (see [§ 25.400](/cfr/2/25.400.md)) must ensure that its information systems are able to both accept and transmit the UEI as the universal identifier for Federal financial assistance applicants and recipients.
