# §385.712. Commission review of initial decisions in the absence of exceptions (Rule 712).

- (a) **General rule.** If no briefs on exceptions to an initial decision are filed within the time established by rule or order under [Rule 711](/cfr/18/711.md), the Commission may, within 10 days after the expiration of such time, issue an order staying the effectiveness of the decision pending Commission review.
- (b) **Briefs and argument.** When the Commission reviews a decision under this section, the Commission may require that participants file briefs or present oral arguments on any issue.
- (c) **Effect of review.** After completing review under this section, the Commission will issue a decision which is final for purposes of rehearing under [Rule 713](/cfr/18/713.md).
