# §1461.1. Scope and application.


In accordance with the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act of 2020 (PFCSA), portable fuel containers must comply with the requirements specified in [§ 1461.3](/cfr/16/1461.3.md), which are considered to be consumer product safety rules.
