# §302.16. Petitions for rulemaking.


Any interested person may petition the Department for the issuance, amendment, modification, or repeal of any regulation or guidance document, or for the Department to perform a retrospective review of an existing rule, subject to the provisions of 49 CFR [5.13(c)](/cfr/49/5.13.md?p=c) and [5.43](/cfr/49/5.43.md).
