# §29.551. Auxiliary lifting surfaces.


Each auxiliary lifting surface must be designed to withstand—

- (a) The critical flight loads in §§ [29.337 through 29.341](/cfr/14/29.337..29.341.md), and [29.351](/cfr/14/29.351.md);
- (b) the applicable ground loads in §§ [29.235](/cfr/14/29.235.md), [29.471 through 29.485](/cfr/14/29.471..29.485.md), [29.493](/cfr/14/29.493.md), [29.505](/cfr/14/29.505.md), and [29.521](/cfr/14/29.521.md); and
- (c) **Any other critical condition expected in normal operation.**
