# §22.165. Emergency evacuation.

- (a) The aircraft must be designed and constructed—
  - (1) So that all occupants have the ability to rapidly conduct an emergency evacuation; and
  - (2) Except as provided in [paragraph (b)](#b) of this section, to account for conditions likely to occur following an emergency landing.
- (b) Aircraft not intended for operation on water are not required to account for ditching in an emergency landing.
