# §365.1. Purpose and scope.


This subpart, issued pursuant to section 304 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991, [12 U.S.C. 1828(o)](/usc/12/1828.md?p=o), prescribes standards for real estate lending to be used by FDIC-supervised institutions in adopting internal real estate lending policies. For purposes of this subpart, the term “FDIC-supervised institution” means any insured depository institution for which the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is the appropriate Federal banking agency pursuant to section 3(q) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, [12 U.S.C. 1813(q)](/usc/12/1813.md?p=q).
