# §160.100. Real estate lending standards; purpose and scope.


This section, and [§ 160.101](/cfr/12/160.101.md) of this subpart, issued pursuant to section 304 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991, [12 U.S.C. 1828(o)](/usc/12/1828.md?p=o), prescribe standards for real estate lending to be used by Federal savings associations and all their includable subsidiaries, as defined in [12 CFR 3.22(a)(8)(iv)](/cfr/12/3.22.md?p=a-8-iv) over which the savings associations exercise control, in adopting internal real estate lending policies.
