# §1001.1. Authority and purpose.


Under [12 U.S.C. 5481(15)(A)(xi)](/usc/12/5481.md?p=15-A-xi), the Bureau is authorized to define certain financial products or services for purposes of title X of the Dodd-Frank Act, Public Law 111-203, 124 Stat. 1376 (2010) (Title X) in addition to those defined in [12 U.S.C. 5481(15)(A)(i)-(x)](/usc/12/5481.md?p=15-A-i..15-A-x). The purpose of this part is to implement that authority.
