## Sec. 2 Expansion of eligibility for Department of Veterans Affairs headstones, markers, and burial receptacles for certain individuals

- <ins>Subsection (b)(2) of section 2306 of title 38, United States Code, is amended in subparagraphs (B) and (C) by striking “who dies on or after November 11, 1998,” each place it appears.</ins>
- (a) <del>In general—</del> <del>Section 2306(h) of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</del>
  - (1) <del>in paragraph (1), by striking “In lieu of furnishing a headstone or marker under this section for” and inserting “In the case of”;</del>
  - (2) <del>by striking paragraph (2);</del>
  - (3) <del>by redesignating paragraphs (3) through (5) as paragraphs (2) through (4), respectively; and</del>
  - (4) <del>in paragraph (1) by striking “paragraph (3)” and inserting “paragraph (2)”.</del>
- (b) <del>Applicability—</del> <del>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to an individual who dies on or after January 5, 2021.</del>

## Sec. 3 Department of Veterans Affairs provision of additional burial benefits when an urn or plaque is provided — added

- (a) <ins>In general—</ins> <ins>Subsection (h) of such section is amended—</ins>
  - (1) <ins>in paragraph (1), by striking “In lieu of furnishing a headstone or marker under this section for” and inserting “In the case of”;</ins>
  - (2) <ins>by striking paragraph (2);</ins>
  - (3) <ins>by redesignating paragraphs (3) through (5) as paragraphs (2) through (4), respectively; and</ins>
  - (4) <ins>in paragraph (1) by striking “paragraph (3)” and inserting “paragraph (2)”.</ins>
- (b) <ins>Applicability—</ins> <ins>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to an individual who dies on or after January 5, 2021.</ins>

## Sec. 4 Extension of certain limits on payments of pension — added

- <ins>Section 5503(d)(7) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by striking “November 30, 2031” and inserting “May 31, 2033”.</ins>
