- That the House of Representatives—
- (1) <del>commemorates </del><ins>underscores </ins>the <del>70th anniversary </del><ins>continuing and crucial role </ins>of the <del>start of </del><ins>alliance between </ins>the <del>Korean war </del><ins>United States </ins>and the <del>beginning </del><ins>Republic </ins>of <ins>Korea in ensuring peace and stability in Asia and </ins>the <del>United States-Republic </del><ins>world, including by providing security from the threat posed by the Democratic People’s Republic </ins>of Korea <del>alliance;</del><ins>and its repeated provocations;</ins>
- (2) <del>honors </del><ins>reaffirms </ins>the <del>men and women </del><ins>importance </ins>of <del>both </del><ins>close cooperation between </ins>the United States and <ins>the </ins>Republic of Korea <del>who have committed and sometimes sacrificed their lives for the alliance during </del><ins>in </ins>the <del>Korean war </del><ins>Indo-Pacific, including on issues ranging from infrastructure </ins>and <del>in subsequent conflicts;</del><ins>development financing to promoting good governance;</ins>
- (3) <del>reaffirms the role </del><ins>encourages </ins>the <del>alliance plays in ensuring peace </del><ins>continued close </ins>and <del>stability in Asia </del><ins>continuing ties between the people </ins>and <ins>governments of </ins>the <del>world;</del><ins>two nations, as well as the contributions the near two million Korean-Americans have made to both societies;</ins>
- (4) <del>celebrates the close and </del><ins>commits to </ins>continuing <del>ties between the people </del>and <del>governments </del><ins>expanding United States-Republic </ins>of <ins>Korea medical and scientific and research collaboration, particularly since cooperation between </ins>the two <del>nations;</del><ins>countries has saved countless lives during the COVID–19 pandemic;</ins>
- (5) <del>commends the lifesaving cooperation between the Republic of Korea </del><ins>urges both countries to prioritize ongoing Special Measures Agreement negotiations </ins>and <del>the United States during the COVID–19 pandemic at each country’s moment of need; </del><ins>to reach mutually agreeable terms; </ins>and
- (6) recommits the United States to ensuring the relationship between the United States and Republic of Korea continues to grow and thrive into the foreseeable future.
